Café Bateel for Gourmet Products - perfect souvenirs
It was our first time visiting Dubai and this trip topped off all my expectations! The incredible skyline from the airplane when you fly in, the architectures, the possibilities, the culture, the people, the food, just everything was unexpected different. The week flew by so quickly, we wouldn’t leave… But we already are planning to come back in 2016!
We stayed in the One&Only Royal Mirage Arabian Court near the Marina Area and the Palm. The hotel has a pretty good location, a private beach and amazing restaurants. We really loved the Arabian style and especially the Arabian Courtyard, where we spend every night on cozy cushions under the clear dark blue sky. Delicious moroccan tea, a shisha and traditional live music made the evening perfect. The hotel has a lot restaurants of various cuisines. But our favourite was by far the moroccan Restaurant Tagine. It’s also rated to one of the best restaurants in this area.

On our stay we tried to visit the most popular tourist attractions as possible. So we went up to the 124th floor on Burj Khalifa.(the tallest building in the world) If you go there in the late afternoon just before the sunset you will have the most beautiful view over the city!

We went a several times into the Dubai Mall, also because you have a lot to explore in the Mall as well, like the aquarium the fountains are right outside and of course the uncountable shopping possibilities.
There are also a lot of delicious restaurants, like the Social House, where you can also sit outside with a view on Burj Khalifa. You also have to try the Arabian dates which are also a nice souvenir! There are a lot of shops offering all kind of variations and flavors. (Café Bateel was our favorite) We walked around the downtown area in the evening, which is so pretty with the in light chain covered palm trees, fountains and sculptures. I really like the mix of modern architecture with the Arabian culture - it's so unique.

I never felt so good in a city, it’s safe, clean and the people are friendly. The metro connections as well for the train connections are perfect and easy to understand. There is security staff at every stop and station sometimes even in the train, it made me feel so safe. Especially if you are by yourself in the evening. I never would take the metro or train in in any other megacity by night.
Dubai Marina by Night
There are still a lot of constructions going on everywhere and I’m sure they will not stop anytime soon, also because of the EXPO 2020 which will be held in the UAE there are a lot of projects in progress. We also liked the Marina Area, where we went a few times on the Marina Walk especially in the evening it’s very pretty! You can sit outside enjoying a shisha and watch the day go by.

When you’re visiting the UAE you do not to have miss out the Desert Safari, it was so much fun driving through the dunes with the pick ups and seeing the sun setting under the Arabian Horizont. Arriving at the camp in the middle of the desert was incredible, we had traditional buffet dinner, listend to traditional music, enjoying a shisha on the camp fire and watched the different shows, like belly dancing and Arabian traditional dance acts. That was such a nice experience and I’m already looking forward to a buggy ride through the desert for our next stay.

It is a very modern, multicultural, new and young city very unique and not incomparable with other mega city’s I’ve seen before. You can do nearly everything from relaxing on the beach, taking a safari tour in the desert, learn about the heritage, culture and tradition. You even can go skiing in the snow hall or turn a few pirouettes on the ice rink in Dubai Mall. There is nothing you can not do. If you like to discover new things than Dubai is the right destination spot for you.
Dubai really only experiences two seasons: hot and hotter! Best time to visit weatherwise would be from October to April. Which is also tourist season, so expect plenty of company on the Beach.
